The retired couple at this property were finding it increasingly difficult to lift the lawn mower up and down the steps to this sunken garden. Not wishing to pave the area, the obvious solution was artificial grass. The existing lawn had a flower border along three sides and one jutting out into the lawn which we edged with a timber baton to retain both the sub base and the soil with minimal disturbance to the planting. Exporting the existing lawn and importing the build-up was a slow, labour intensive process, but the result made all the hard work worth while.
